Growing New Directions

22nd Sep 11

There was a mood of optimism, celebration and looking to the future in a positive way as over 200 delegates and presenters met last week for LCSA's 2011 Conference, Growing New Directions. Delegates enjoyed some stimulating and thought provoking presentations and workshops and the opportunity to network extensively and think about the future directions of their own services and the sector as a whole.

Delegates, here is your opportunity to share the experience of the conference with others. Share your highlights here.

Thank you to all who organised a thoroughly informative and enjoyable event. This was my first conference. I came away extremely encouraged and was given a better perspective of the role I have at the Community Centre that I coordinate. It was also a great opportunity to meet other people in the field and hear their stories. I asked one lady, who had been working for years at Gundagai Centre, what advice she would give me for longevity. Her answer was "Don't panic!"

Thank you to the LCSA team for providing such a great conference.

The speakers were all engaging, informative and relevant. The workshops I attended were valuable professional development.

I highly recommend the LCSA conference to all members as a valuable investment in staff professional development.

Plan your budgets for the new financial year knowing that the conference is an important component to your training calendar.

Another fantastic conference for LSCA. Congratulations to all who had a part in the organising and running.

The Maitland Neighbourhood Centre Team came back to work full of enthusiasm and immeadiately began to put their learnings into practice. A fanatstic outcome for us.

It was so nice to have a healthy number of Hunter people at the Conference....Go the Hunter!!!!

Thank you, Brian and the LCSA Team for having me and Deni at this year's conference. It was unforgettable! We are still talking about it!

It was a true gift and honour to meet all the participants who joined the pre-conference training and our workshops on vibrant facilitation. I felt a strong resonance with you and that energy has carried on to our work here in Indonesia.

I am now in Kupang with my colleague and co-founder of INSPIRIT, Dani, who joined the closing of the conference in Sydney. He was the one who suggested that we all sing "All You Need is Love" at the end...and I'm glad he did.

We hope to eventually be able to invite some of you Indonesia in the future to share your work with likeminded organizations here...how great that would be!

Brian, Vivienne and team/s. Congratulations on organising and delivering another LCSA Conference. What a great turn out! I found it valuable for various reasons, and the right balance of information and networking time. I'm also encouraged that cultural change can be achieved and leave an organisation stronger and more effective.

Was a great conference, easily the best yet. I was able to source valuable information while also having the opportunity to catch up with friends and network. Loved the pre-conference training. Well done Brian and team.
