Community Skills Development - List of Activities

In your Community Builders service specification you will see that Community Skills Development includes activities you are funded for under column B. The list below shows all activities that fall under Community Skills Development.

  • Governance training - This relates to training provided to local individuals and groups on how to run a community organisation e.g. management committee training. You will have to collect and report data on the number of training sessions held, number of people attending (for all sessions) as well as how many events were held on time and as planned.
  • Development of resources - This relates to resources developed to support local individuals and groups to establish or participate in management committees e.g. booklets, brochures, website, online resources etc. You will have to collect and report data on the number of governance resources produced, the number of people reached with each resource, and how many resources were completed on time and as planned.
  • Leadership training - This activity relates to training for building leadership skills e.g. train-the-trainer, change management training etc..You will have to collect and report data on the number of training sessions held, number of people attending (for all sessions) as well as how many events were held on time and as planned.
  • Mentoring program - This activity relates to structured mentoring programs e.g. Big Brother or Big Sister programs, programs for young parents or 1-on-1 mentoring programs etc. You will have to collect and report data on the number of training sessions held, number of people attending (for all sessions) as well as how many events were held on time and as planned.
  • Life skills program - This relates to programs that emphasise developing life skills e.g. courses on budgeting, nutritious cooking courses, English conversation classes etc. You will have to collect and report data on the number of training sessions held, number of people attending (for all sessions) as well as how many events were held on time and as planned.
  • Education/learning program - Your centre provides programs for learning and education opportunities e.g. Literacy classes, numeracy classes, computer classes, resume writing etc. You will have to collect and report data on the number of training sessions held, number of people attending (for all sessions) as well as how many events were held on time and as planned.
  • Volunteer Training - Your centre provides volunteers with appropriate skills training that will assist them in volunteering e.g. training volunteers to work in community organisations, community events, cultural events, art exhibition, youth week etc... You will have to collect and report data on the number of training sessions held, number of people attending (for all sessions) as well as how many events were held on time and as planned.
