Why a Role Requirement Framework?

LCSA is working with Dallas Burgess and Adrian Peterson of People Advantage to develop Role Requirements Frameworks for neighbourhood centres and similar locally based organisations.

Role Requirements Frameworks are a powerful tool for developing accurate and consistent job descriptions and transparent, usable performance appraisals. This is something that has been largely lacking in our sector until now. Role Requirement Frameworks enable centres to achieve a number of important HR requirements:

  • Internal consistency in within each job description.
  • Consistency between job descriptions across an organisation.
  • A consistent standard for job descriptions across the sector.
  • A tool for comparing remuneration with equivlent jobs in other sectors.
  • A framework that can be easily and accurately related to the new award structure.
  • A powerful tool for consistent, transparent and usable performance appraisals.

Normally it would be beyond the means of most LCSA member organisations to develop such a framework on their own, which is why LCSA is funding this work as a service to its members.
