In the lead up to the 2019 NSW State Election, LCSA developed a policy platform that asked for a government commitment to retain diversity in the community services sector with a range of difference organisations in scope, size and services delivery models.
This submission to government outlines new policies that would ensure the long-term sustainability of Neighbourhood Centres through a Four-Point Plan:
- Recognise Neighbourhood Centres as essential social infrastructure
- Acknowledge the significant contribution community development activities make to the economic and social wellbeing of communities
- Recognise the significant opportunities offered by neighbourhood centres across all human services including child protection prevention and early intervention
- Build statewide capability in the governance, management and provision of Neighbourhood Centres
