Neighbourhood Centre Week

Neighbourhood Centre Week (NCW), is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the role of Neighbourhood Centres in local communities across the nation.

A common thread that runs through every one of the 1000+ centres in Australia, is their inclusive nature: anyone and everyone is welcome, and members of the community are encouraged to help in the centre’s organisation, management and use.

Stronger Together

This year Neighbourhood Centre Week will be celebrated from 13 - 19 May 2024 with the theme ‘Stronger Together’.

We encourage all Neighbourhood and Community Centres across New South Wales to hold events, activities and media campaigns leading up to and during the week of 13-19 May 2024 around this year's theme. Neighbourhood and Community Centres all throughout Australia are the heart of the local community. We strive to embody the essence of togetherness. We bring people from all walks of life together to connect, learn, and play. Through collaborative initiatives, inclusive programs, and shared spaces, we cultivate an environment where every voice is heard, every story is valued, and every member contributes to our shared community.

A number of resources have been developed by ANHCA (Australian Neighbourhood Houses & Centres Association) to assist Neighbourhood and Community Centres in NSW to plan and promote their activities for NCW 2024. The Resource Pack can be downloaded from the ANHCA website and includes:

  • NCW Logo & Banner
