Most Neighbourhood and Community Centres (NCCs) in NSW receive funding from the Department of Communities Justice (DCJ) through the Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) Program. Depending on the organisation, TEI program funding may make up their entire income source, or a small percentage of multiple funding streams.

About the TEI Program

The TEI program aims to deliver a wide variety of support to children, young people, families and communities. Each local community has different priorities and needs and so the TEI program is flexible, responsive and locally based.

TEI Services are delivered under two broad streams:

  1. Community Strengthening – activities that build cohesion, inclusion and wellbeing across all communities, and empower Aboriginal communities.
  2. Wellbeing and Safety – activities that support families and individuals, and provide opportunities for personal development.
